Application challenge

Telecom enclosure seals must cope with weather and servicing.

5G Base Stations application5G Base Stations

Outdoor radio units and telecom cabinets are exposed to rain, dust, temperature changes and repeated maintenance. Gaskets need consistent compression, while internal cushioning must preserve ventilation and component clearances.

BISCOTECH helps select foam and rubber grades, then converts them into die-cut pads, gaskets, adhesive-backed strips and laminated parts based on drawings and assembly requirements.

Typical applications

Sealing and cushioning interfaces in 5G base stations.

Radio Unit Cover GasketsCompression sealing around removable housing covers
Telecom Cabinet DoorsWeather-resistant strips and frames around cabinet openings

Cable Entry Plate SealsDie-cut parts around removable cable entry plates
Fan and Filter FramesInterface gaskets and cushioning that preserve designed airflow
Internal Support PadsAnti-rattle pads for brackets and protected electronic assemblies

Converting and customization

Delivered in the format your production line needs.

BISCOTECH can select suitable material thicknesses and configure adhesive backing, laminated layers and converted geometry around your drawing and assembly requirements.

Application example

Example: an outdoor telecom cabinet door seal.

Requirement

A telecom cabinet may need a door gasket that maintains contact after servicing and is practical to install along the frame.

Proposed approach

Review the perimeter joint, latch compression, weather exposure and installation sequence, then compare suitable silicone and EPDM grades.

Sample validation

Evaluate seal continuity, repeated opening, compression recovery and assembled ingress protection before production approval.

FAQ

Common questions about material selection.

Can foam parts seal an outdoor telecom enclosure?

Selected silicone or EPDM grades can form compression seals when matched to the joint geometry and exposure. The completed enclosure must be tested for its target ingress protection. Internal PU or CR pads can support cushioning where the location and grade are suitable.

Can you provide converted or die-cut parts?

Yes. We support die-cut gaskets and pads, slit rolls, adhesive backing and laminated foam or rubber constructions based on drawings and samples.

What information is needed for material selection and a quote?

Please share a drawing or sample, dimensions, compression gap and load, temperature range, exposure conditions, adhesive surface and estimated quantity. Include any target ingress protection or flame rating; material properties and assembled performance need validation for the chosen grade and design.
