Application challenge

Small gaps need controlled compression and a precise fit.

Consumer Electronics applicationConsumer Electronics

Displays, handheld devices and compact electronics combine fragile surfaces, limited clearance and repeated handling. Pads and gaskets must cushion contact points without adding excessive assembly pressure or blocking functional openings.

BISCOTECH helps select foam and rubber grades, then converts them into die-cut pads, gaskets, adhesive-backed strips and laminated parts based on drawings and assembly requirements.

Typical applications

Sealing and cushioning interfaces in consumer electronics.

Display Perimeter PadsSoft support and dust sealing around display frames
Battery Support PadsCushioning at battery-to-housing contact points, with compression and expansion clearance reviewed
Speaker Housing GasketsSealing around acoustic chambers while preserving designed sound openings
Camera and Sensor PadsCushioning around mounting interfaces without obstructing lenses or sensing paths
Housing and Cover GasketsGap filling and dust sealing at enclosure joints
Button and Bracket PadsAnti-rattle support at small moving or mounted components

Converting and customization

Delivered in the format your production line needs.

BISCOTECH can select suitable material thicknesses and configure adhesive backing, laminated layers and converted geometry around your drawing and assembly requirements.

Application example

Example: a display frame cushioning pad.

Requirement

A compact display assembly may need a thin pad to reduce hard contact and close perimeter gaps without excessive pressure on the panel.

Proposed approach

Review the display clearance, compression force, adhesive contact surface and die-cut tolerance, then compare suitable PU and silicone foam grades.

Sample validation

Evaluate sample fit, panel loading, compression recovery and adhesive compatibility before agreeing on a production format.

FAQ

Common questions about material selection.

How do you select foam for a compact display assembly?

Start with the available gap, permitted compression force, surface sensitivity and temperature range. PU foam can provide soft internal cushioning; silicone foam can support recovery over temperature changes. Verify the selected grade and thickness in the actual assembly.

Can you provide converted or die-cut parts?

Yes. We support die-cut gaskets and pads, slit rolls, adhesive backing and laminated foam or rubber constructions based on drawings and samples.

What information is needed for material selection and a quote?

Please share a drawing or sample, dimensions, compression gap and load, temperature range, exposure conditions, adhesive surface and estimated quantity. Include any target ingress protection or flame rating; material properties and assembled performance need validation for the chosen grade and design.
