Application challenge

Vehicle interfaces must tolerate motion, weather and repeated compression.

New Energy Vehicles applicationNew Energy Vehicles

Electric vehicle components experience road vibration, temperature changes and variable exposure to moisture. Material selection must match each location, from protected cabin parts to exposed electronic enclosures and battery housings.

BISCOTECH helps select foam and rubber grades, then converts them into die-cut pads, gaskets, adhesive-backed strips and laminated parts based on drawings and assembly requirements.

Typical applications

Sealing and cushioning interfaces in new energy vehicles.

Battery Housing GasketsPerimeter sealing for pack covers and service interfaces
Module Support PadsCushioning at module-to-housing interfaces within the specified compression range
Vehicle Electronics GasketsSealing and cushioning around control-unit housings
Harness and Connector PadsAnti-rattle support at cable clips and connector contact points
Charging Interface GasketsSeals around access covers and connector housings, subject to assembly validation
Cabin and Trim PadsSoft cushioning between trim panels, displays and brackets

Converting and customization

Delivered in the format your production line needs.

BISCOTECH can select suitable material thicknesses and configure adhesive backing, laminated layers and converted geometry around your drawing and assembly requirements.

Application example

Example: a vehicle electronics housing gasket.

Requirement

A vehicle control housing may need a compressible cover gasket that fits the joint and tolerates vibration and temperature changes.

Proposed approach

Review the joint, sealing target, operating temperature, contact surfaces and assembly force before comparing silicone foam, EPDM and CR grades.

Sample validation

Test fit, compression recovery, environmental exposure and sealing performance on the assembled housing before production approval.

FAQ

Common questions about material selection.

Should one foam grade be used throughout an electric vehicle?

Different locations need different material properties. PU foam is useful for protected anti-rattle pads, while selected silicone, EPDM or CR grades may suit housing seals and more demanding interfaces. Battery compression limits, exposure and any flame-rating requirements must be checked for the specific part.

Can you provide converted or die-cut parts?

Yes. We support die-cut gaskets and pads, slit rolls, adhesive backing and laminated foam or rubber constructions based on drawings and samples.

What information is needed for material selection and a quote?

Please share a drawing or sample, dimensions, compression gap and load, temperature range, exposure conditions, adhesive surface and estimated quantity. Include any target ingress protection or flame rating; material properties and assembled performance need validation for the chosen grade and design.
